Import Passwords from a CSV-File using the Web Application

Requirement

You want to import passwords from a CSV-file, using the Web Application.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Web Application
  • Advanced User license
  • User right "Can create new password"
  • User right "Can import"

Procedure

  • Log in into the Password Secure Web Application
  • Expand the ribbon

Below extras, click on Import

Click choose file and select your CSV-file

After choosing the file, you have to define where to store the imported passwords by selecting the correct

  1. Select your target Organisational Unit
  2. Select your Permission Template
  3. Double-check the Permissions

In the import file section, you need to specify the CSV formatting settings. In most cases, the default values should work. Make sure, the preview looks correct, otherwise data corruption might appear!

Next, you need to assign the fields from your CSV-file to the fields of your Password Secure form (2). Select an existing form that matches your data structure, or create a new form (1).

Now you can finish the CSV-file import dialogue and Password Secure will perform the import in the background. You can check the progress by opening the task activity list.

Once the Import is done, you will be notified.
