Read Error Information from the Event Viewer

Goal

You read error information from Netwrix Password Secure in the Windows Event Viewer. If you attach this information to a support ticket, we can help you faster when problems occur.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the machine where the error occurs: the server (Application Server) or the machine running the Windows App.

Steps

  1. Open the Event Viewer. The easiest way is through the Windows search or with the command eventvwr.msc (Windows key + R).

  2. In the Event Viewer, click Windows Logs and then Application. The latest events are loaded. This can take a moment.

  3. The relevant entries are now at the top. Entries with the source PSRServer (server) or PSRClient (Windows App) concern Password Secure.

  4. Right-click the first relevant event, select Copy (1), and then Copy Details as Text (2).

  5. Paste the error text from the clipboard into a file or directly into the support ticket. Repeat this for all other relevant entries.
