If you're seeing an error indicating that the license server is unreachable, it's possible that it is undergoing scheduled maintenance. This article provides details on known maintenance windows and basic troubleshooting steps to verify the issue on your end.

Note: This article applies only to environments using the online license server.
License files are not affected by maintenance windows.
However, offline licenses cannot be issued during maintenance periods.

Known Maintenance Windows

Our license server (license.passwordsafe.de) undergoes routine maintenance during the following periods:

  • Currently no maintenance window planned

Basic Troubleshooting Steps

Before opening a support ticket, please perform the following checks:

  1. Verify Network Connectivity
    Open PowerShell and run the following command to check if your system can reach the license server:

    Test-NetConnection -ComputerName license.passwordsafe.de -Port 443

    If the test fails, ensure that:

    • Your internet connection is working.

    • Your firewall or proxy is not blocking outbound traffic to license.passwordsafe.de on port 443.

  2. Try Accessing via Browser
    Visit https://license.passwordsafe.de/kis from your browser. If the page does not load, the issue may be network-related or due to maintenance.
