Enable Cross-Client Authentication in Netwrix Password Secure

Goal

You enable cross-client authentication in Netwrix Password Secure. Once enabled, a login in one client automatically logs you in to the Web App, the browser extension, and the Windows Client on the same device.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Windows Client.
  • Access to the Server Manager.
  • Advanced User license.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Windows Client and open File.

  2. In the General settings (1), activate Cross-Client authentication (2).

  3. Netwrix Password Secure notes that all clients must be restarted for the change to take effect.

  4. To forward the login to the Web App, store the Web App URL in the Server Manager first. Log in to the Server Manager and open Web App.

  5. Click Edit Web App URL and enter the URL of your Web App, for example https://passwordsecure.company.org.

From now on, a login in the Windows Client, the Web App, or the browser extension also logs you in to the other two.
