Problem
After changing the SSL certificate in the Basic Configuration (Expert Mode), you can no longer log in to the Server Manager. The Basic Configuration uses a certificate from your own CA. The following error message appears:
Cause
The automatic detection of the certification mode fails because the SAN of the certificate does not contain a DNS entry with the hostname of the server. As a result, the certificate check fails at login.
Resolution
Recommended: Use a certificate with the hostname in the SAN
Reissue the certificate from your own CA and add the hostname of the server as a DNS entry in the SAN. The first SAN entry must be identical to the Common Name (CN). Then store the new certificate in the Basic Configuration.
Alternative: Compare the fingerprint
Note: This is a workaround. For security reasons, we recommend correcting the certificate as described above.
- On the Server Manager login screen, click Advanced Settings.
- Set the certification mode to Compare server certificate fingerprint.
-
Select the certificate that is also stored in the Basic Configuration.
- Log in again.
